About the Invoice Generator API
Send billing addresses, an invoice number, and line items with item quantities and unit prices. The endpoint applies discounts, calculates sales tax against the adjusted subtotal, fetches remote logos up to 2 MB, and formats amounts across 172 currencies. It returns a temporary download URL and a Unix expiration timestamp.

Which plan fits 5,000 invoices a month?
Starter easily covers 5,000 invoices. At 20 credits per invoice, 5,000 calls use 100,000 credits, which is half of Starter's monthly allowance. That works out to about $0.003 per invoice, or $3.00 per 1,000 invoices. If you want to test the workflow first, the Free plan provides 10 invoice generations each month.
Which currencies does Invoice Generator support?
The API supports 172 currencies. You can pass any supported currency code when generating an invoice to match your customer billing preferences.
Can I include discounts, sales tax, and custom payment terms?
Yes. You can supply an itemized list of charges with individual quantities, descriptions, and unit prices, along with discount values and percentage-based sales tax. The request also accepts payment terms, job descriptions, issue dates, due dates, and sender and recipient address blocks.
How does the API return the generated invoice?
The API returns a JSON payload containing the unique filename of the generated document, an expiration timestamp, and a temporary download URL. You can use that URL to fetch the completed PDF file directly into your application.
How long does the invoice download link remain active?
The generated download URL is temporary. Each response returns a Unix timestamp indicating when the download link expires and the document is deleted, so your system should download and persist the PDF file promptly.

Sent as JSON in the request body. Premium parameters are accepted on every plan but only take effect on plans that include them. Anything not listed here is dropped rather than passed through.

401 is the only auth verdict
A 401 means the key is missing, invalid or expired. A 403 means the key is valid but not permitted here — blocked by a key restriction or an IP allow-list. Running out of credits is a 429.

Every APIVerve endpoint returns the same three top-level keys, so one response handler covers your whole integration: status, error and data. Only data changes shape.

Paths are relative to data. Premium fields are absent rather than zeroed on plans that do not include them, so check for presence instead of comparing to 0.

Response headers
Every response carries your balance, so your own code always knows where it stands without polling anything. All four are exposed to browsers through CORS.

Errors
Read the HTTP status first, then error for the specific reason. The body names the parameter that has to change.

What a call costs — 20 credits per call
Credits are shared across every APIVerve API — one balance, one key, one bill. Failed requests never count against it, so a rejected input costs nothing.
