How many PDF conversions does the Free plan cover?

The Free plan includes 200 credits each month, which covers 5 PDF conversions at 40 credits per call. On the Starter plan, 200,000 credits cover up to 5,000 conversions per month, which works out to about $0.006 per call or $6.00 per 1,000 conversions.

Can I adjust margins and landscape orientation on the Free plan?

No, custom page margins and landscape orientation require a paid subscription. The Free plan generates PDFs with default layout settings, while any paid plan unlocks custom margin controls for all four sides as well as landscape orientation.

Can I convert any website URL to a PDF?

Yes, you can pass any publicly accessible website URL to generate a PDF. The API processes the page and returns a unique file identifier along with a direct download link.

How long does the generated PDF download link stay active?

The download link provided in the response is temporary and includes an expiration timestamp. You should download the PDF file to your own storage before that expiration timestamp passes.

Can I deliver the generated PDFs to my paying customers?

Yes, you can generate and deliver PDFs to end users inside your product on any paid plan. Commercial use requires a paid subscription, and you may not resell the underlying conversion API directly as a standalone service.

Authentication

Send your key in the x-api-key header. That is the only auth step — no token exchange, and no per-endpoint scope to configure.

401 is the only auth verdict

A 401 means the key is missing, invalid or expired. A 403 means the key is valid but not permitted here — blocked by a key restriction or an IP allow-list. Running out of credits is a 429.

Response — POST /v1/websitetopdf

Every APIVerve endpoint returns the same three top-level keys, so one response handler covers your whole integration: status, error and data. Only data changes shape.

Response headers

Every response carries your balance, so your own code always knows where it stands without polling anything. All four are exposed to browsers through CORS.

Errors

Read the HTTP status first, then error for the specific reason. The body names the parameter that has to change.
